My excuses took over and I was unable to escape my mental prison. To cope with crippling social anxiety, I had to isolate myself and play video games.

I was shy and scrawny, a virgin loser who had no friends.-Stop working and be miserable in your life.

But guess what, I’m no longer the same person.

As I’m writing this, I’m sitting on a couch in a tropical paradise on the other side of the world. I’m writing this from a place inside myself of true confidence in who I am.

Perhaps you are wondering what has changed. You might be wondering what changed.

I decided I don’t want to be the same person anymore. So I took my own life.

The person I used to be literally died and I became someone else.

I came to realize that I am not the person I should be. I couldn’t change because I didn’t think it was possible.

It all began with me pushing myself to do small everyday things.

Instead of living a routine life, I used my emotions to make things different.

Do I have to walk the exact same route to school and work? No, I’m going to go another way instead.

I then began speaking what I wanted to say, regardless of the topic or who it was with.

Why did you do all of this? Because it’s impossible not to. My friend suggested that I go to the gym with him. Although it was difficult at first to not make excuses in my life, I gained confidence as I saw the results.

As my confidence grew, I didn’t need to drink anymore to deal with my social anxiety. While I was sober, I was able go to clubs or parties and make new friends.

Then I started going out every single day, with the sole purpose of pushing my comfort zone and meeting new people and experiencing life fully.

The beautiful thing is when you’re successful in one area of life, it bleeds into the rest of your life.

I transformed into something I never thought would have been possible, into…

Now I’m sitting in on the other end of the world reflecting on the amazing and crazy year I’ve had. My business is successful, I’ve helped a lot of my clients achieve their goals, I’ve met some of the most amazing people, and I achieved the ability to connect with many people on a very deep level.

I’ve traveled, made money, tons of friends, gotten my health handled, learned a ton, and truly found happiness within myself. I don’t think many people can say they are truly ever happy in life, but I found it within myself because I am happy with the person I have become.

The point I’m trying to get at is if your life is not where you want to be, just kill the parts of yourself that you don’t like.

Your old self is gone-identity. You can get rid of the old you and create a new one. You can feel confident in your own abilities. Your life can be literally restarted. It won’t be easy. You’ll make a lot of mistakes. You’ll go through a lot of emotional pains. But that’s how you’ll learn. You can learn and be successful. When you become successful in one area of your life, you’re confident. You can do anything if you are confident.
